The Skin Syllabus (“the site”) is run by Dacota Brooks. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and how it is used.
Information you give me
- Newsletter: your email address, when you subscribe to receive new lessons and updates.
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Esthetician List: your name, email address, state of licensure, license number, workplace type, and topic interests.
How it is used
- To send the newsletter and updates you signed up for.
- To reply to messages you send.
- To verify your esthetician license before adding you to the Esthetician List and sending you professional content and the member password.
Your license number is used only to confirm you are a licensed esthetician. It is never published, sold, or shared.
I do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the site collects basic technical information (such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location) through WordPress.com and its built-in statistics tools. This helps me understand which lessons are useful. The site may use cookies for these features and to remember things like your subscription status.
Where your information is stored
The site is hosted on WordPress.com, which is operated by Automattic Inc. Newsletter subscriptions and form submissions are stored and processed through WordPress.com. You can read Automattic’s privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any newsletter email.
- Leave the Esthetician List or ask me to delete the information you submitted by contacting me.
- Ask what information I have about you, and I will tell you.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page.
